The thrills of Punto Banco are especially popular in the casinos of Macau, and they come alive beautifully at Gaming Club. The game involves betting on which of 2 hand totals will be higher; the Player, or Punto hand, or the Banker, or Banco hand, or you can bet on a tie.
Wager on a Winning Hand
What makes online Baccarat really interesting is that neither of the hands belongs to your or the dealer. Player and Banker are the names of the hands only, and there are no moves you can make to affect the cards in the hand. This is unlike any other card game; in Baccarat, as in Roulette, the only place to use strategy is in the bets that you place.
At the start of each round, you bet on the Player or Banker hand total being higher, or on the hand totals tying. Each hand is then dealt 2 cards, with the number cards worth their face value, Aces worth 1 and royal cards worth 0. The hand totals are determined by adding the cards together and dropping the 10 value, so that a hand with a 6 and a 7 card is worth 3, not 13.
A Player hand of less than 6 or 7 must be dealt another card, and there are specific rules governing when a banker hand gets a third card too. You don’t need to remember any of that at Gaming Club, however; we do it all for you. A Natural, as a hand total of 8 or 9 is called, is the highest possible total in the game, and wins automatically. If neither hand has a Natural, the player and banker hands are compared and the highest total wins.
Successful bets on a Player or Banker hand win are paid out 1:1, less 5% commission in the case of the banker hand. If you wager on a tie and it comes through you get an incredible 8:1 return, but the house edge is a very steep at 14.1. It just depends how much of a high-risk, high-reward mood you’re in!
